Esperanza Vargas-Posada, MD
Medical Director of the Pediatric Rehabilitation & Early Intervention & Developmental Program
Esperanza Vargas-Posada, MD, is the Medical Director of the Pediatric Rehabilitation & Early Intervention & Developmental Program at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.
Dr. Vargas-Posada graduated from Universidad Nacional de Colombia in Santa Fe de Bogota, Columbia. After completing residencies in pediatric orthopedic surgery at two hospitals in Latin America, she became a resident in physical medicine and rehabilitation at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. She then moved to Houston for a fellowship in pediatric rehabilitation at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Medical Center.
Over the years, Dr. Vargas-Posada has practiced physiatry at a number of hospitals in New York and Florida. She has also held academic appointments at New York Medical College and the University of Miami School of Medicine. She is board certified in her field and has undergone continuing education in medical acupuncture for the treatment of pain.

Dr. Vargas-Posada is a member of the South Miami Medical Forum and the U.S.-Columbian Medical Association.
