Latex balloons are not allowed in
Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital because they can be a choking hazard for children. If you will be bringing food as a gift, please check beforehand with the child's parents or caregivers regarding any dietary restrictions they may have. Please ensure that any toys you bring are age-appropriate and safe for the child.

Security Procedures

Memorial Regional Hospital and Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital have dedicated security staff on guard 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Sophisticated technology is used to restrict access to certain areas of the hospital. We encourage parents to visit and stay whenever possible, however only parents and visitors approved by the family will receive armbands that allow them access to patients. Visitor passes are required for those without armbands; all visitors are screened before being allowed entry. Similarly, information about a patient's condition is only given to parents and authorized persons.

Smoking Policy

Joe DiMaggio Children's Hospital and Memorial Regional Hospital are non-smoking facilities. There is no smoking permitted in any of the hospital buildings at any time. There are designated smoking areas outside the hospital buildings.
